Finance Manager - Berkhamsted

Our client, a rapidly growing company within a major European retail, trade and services group, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take full ownership of their finance function at their Berkhamsted office. The Role As Finance Manager you will be responsible for the complete financial management and reporting for the UK entity. This is a hands-on role leading all aspects of finance from transactional processing through to monthly management accounts. Specific responsibilities include:
* Preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packages
* Cash flow forecasting and management
* Balance sheet reconciliations and controls
* Statutory reporting requirements (VAT, P&L etc.)
* Supervision of the accounts assistant
* Ownership of the full accounting cycle - payables, receivables, reconciliations
* Liaising with auditors for year-end statutory audits
* Financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting/projects
The Finance Manager For this broad role, you must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or have significant relevant experience managing a finance functions or junior member of a team. Specific key strengths required:
* Demonstrated experience across the full accounting cycle
* Very strong technical accounting skills
* Experience producing high quality management reports and commentary
* Excellent communication skills to engage with non-finance stakeholders
* Advanced Excel skills are essential
* Knowledge of accounting software like Xero, Sage etc.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
