Due to new partnerships, exciting opportunities have arisen for a Quantity Surveyor for upcoming works in Colchester, England.
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be an essential member of our commercial and will contribute your expertise by providing day-to-day commercial support with an emphasis on delivering excellence. Ensure projects are delivered in line with client requirements; reviewing contract documentation, maximising value and minimising costs. You will be responsible for organising all procurement.
Communication and understanding client requirements are a key aspect of this role acting as liaison with internal and external stakeholders. You may be asked to support projects by attending client meetings.
You must be a resident in the UK at the time of this advertisement and hold necessary paperwork to prove this.
Job Description
As Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for:
Ensure projects are completed in a safe and efficient manner, in line with contractual requirements, and delivered on projected margin levels
Support the tendering process in identifying project requirements and the methods by which Glenevin can meet them
Advise on procurement of sub-contractors
Prepare interim and final account payments to supply chain
Collate evidence and substantiation for maximising early warning and compensation event opportunities. Processing and agreeing same to maximise revenue timeously.
Ensure data is collected according to contractual and company specifications
QC and review data and reports in conjunction with the processing & finance team
Maintaining accurate records
Take part in risk assessments and hazard identifications
Providing commercial support for project activities
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers
Assist SQS in maintaining UpToDate departmental documentation Ensuring commercial aspects of sub-contract accounts are managed from procurement to interim and final account agreement, in accordance with relevant contract terms and associated pricing option and /or best practice.
Providing Programme and Project management team and Operations with advice and assistance on all matters relating to Contract Performance and Commercial issues in accordance with relevant contract terms and associated pricing option and /or best practice.
Accountable to the Delivery Director for maximisation of the commercial benefit of all subcontracts and effective management of contract changes in accordance with relevant contract terms and associated pricing options and /or best practice.
Monitoring accurate Contractor progress on site, carrying out accurate site and quantity measurements, quantity and measurement reviews, and carrying out audits of delivered quantities
Ensuring that Contractor payment valuations are accurately assessed, challenged appropriately, certified and paid on time, with findings communicated to all stakeholders.
Reporting over measure or cost adjustments required to accurately represent performance
Conforming with all company policies.
Experience and Requirements

Essential:
4+ Years' of Quantity Surveyor experience within the construction/utilities industry
Minimum HND qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
