The salary for this role is £50,311. Onsite working is expected for 3 days each week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.
Job Description
This role requires employees tocomplete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
The Role

As theSafety & Health Business Partner,you will play a pivotal role inproviding operational support in matters of industrial safety and health.
Your primary focus will be to support the UKAEA's management of safety & health, focusing on supporting major projects. You will work closely with the heads of the division and their teams to drive a proactive culture.
This will suit a safety & health professional who is, or working towards chartered status and willing to challenge, mentor and support senior management in matters of safety & health.
Additional Responsibilities
* Provide safety and health expertise to staff and contractors within the business area to ensure statutory compliance.
* Support the business through monitoring and measuring safety & health performance and culture, recommending actions for improvement.
* With the relevant Head of Division, conduct audits and inspections of the business areas.
* To manage the S&H incident reports relevant to Divisions, ensuring appropriate actions are assigned, cause analysis is completed and there is a validation of closure.
* To guideon S&H investigations, including undertaking and completing Fact Finds and attending formal inquiries.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
* NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.
* Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards CMIOSH.
* Experience in the safety management of Construction (Design and Management) Projects.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective working relationships to be developed with people in a wide range of roles and levels of responsibility.
* Experience in carrying out audits and investigations.
