Responsibilities
for Conveyancing Solicitor:
1. Manage a full caseload of residential and/or commercial conveyancing matters including sales, purchases, remortgages, lease extensions, new builds, transfers of equity, and shared ownership.
2. Draft and review contracts, transfer documents, leases, and other legal documentation.
3. Carry out due diligence including title checks, property searches, and reporting to clients and lenders.
4. Deal with exchange and completion procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
5. Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, other solicitors, and third parties throughout the transaction.
6. Submit Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) returns and register transactions with HM Land Registry.
7. Ensure compliance with the companies’ policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
8. Supervise junior staff or conveyancing assistants/paralegals as required.
9. Contribute to business development and client relationship management.
10. Maintain accurate case management records and billing practices.
Key Skills and Experience Required for Conveyancing Solicitor
11. Qualified Solicitor (or Licensed Conveyancer/Legal Executive with equivalent experience).
12. Minimum 4 years of PQE in conveyancing (residential and/or commercial).
13. Strong technical knowledge of property law and conveyancing procedures.
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
15. Ability to manage a busy caseload independently with minimal supervision.
16. Proficient in using case management systems and Microsoft Office.
17. Strong attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
18. Commitment to delivering excellent client service.
