The shift pattern for this post are 5 out of 7 day work pattern and will be required to participate in delivery of pharmacy services at weekends, public holidays and on-call as part of a rota.
An exciting post for a committed and clinical pharmacist has arisen within the Royal Hospital for Children, working as part of the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology pharmacy team.
You must be a patient focussed clinical practitioner who will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team delivering on the safe and effective use of medicines with particular emphasis on the safe prescribing, administration and monitoring of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and the associated supportive care. You will also support advancement and services developments within clinical pharmacy, including technician-led medicines management initiatives and pharmacist led prescribing initiatives. You will be active in the ongoing development and maintenance of Chemotherapy Electronic Prescribing Systems to support GGCs compliance with national directives.
The post holder will be an integral member of the Clinical Pharmacist Team in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology and the wider Women and Childrens service. You will work cohesively with the Paediatric Pharmacy, Aseptic Preparation and Paediatric Clinical Trials Teams to provide a consistent, equitable and high quality clinical pharmacy service to Paediatric Haematology and Oncology patients.
You must have relevant post-qualification experience and have completed stage 2 SVTS or equivalent. You require to be an independent prescriber or working towards IP.
Experience working within a paediatric or haematology/oncology setting is desirable.
Excellent management and communication skills with a flexible approach to working are essential to the role.
