Overview
Equans is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities
* Undertake improvement work, maintenance and repairs of plant, services and physical assets including testing and routine fault finding
* Actively involved in developing detailed knowledge, and the maintenance of the core plant and equipment in the Acute PFI Hospital Building
* Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to own trade, without supervision
* Carry out unsupervised maintenance and report any defects or unusual circumstances to the Supervisor/AEM
* Learn new techniques with training as necessary
* Understand fully the inter-relationship between various maintenance crafts
* Carry out PPM checks including tank visual inspections, calorifier visual inspections, temperature checks, shower head replacements, TMV servicing, chemical dosing and descaling of outlets
* Ensure all PPM and Reactive work is carried out effectively in compliance with maintenance instructions and response and repair times
* Record information as required for the operation of Maximo or similar system

Requirements
* Knowledge of ACoP L8, HSG 274 and ideally HTM04-01
* General knowledge of mechanical systems and water services
* General knowledge of Health and Safety
* This role includes a DBS Standard check; ability to pass is essential
