Based at: The Civic Office, Doncaster / Childrens Residential Homes across the borough

Salary details: Grade 10, 47,621 - 49,646 (pro rata for part time working) pay award pending

Contract Type: Temporary Fixed Term to 2028

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Flexible working arrangements: flexible working requests considered.

This is an exciting opportunity to continue developing the therapeutic approach which is adopted across the City of Doncasters (CDC) residential childrens homes. The post holder will be supporting psychological practice through consultation, supervision, formulation and training and by participating in systematic clinical governance. There may be an opportunity to utilise research skills for audit, service development and research within the area served by the team/service.

The post holder will provide a qualified, high-quality specialist psychological input across CDSs residential childrens, in line with best, evidence-based practice. This will include being responsible for holding and managing a clinical caseload and to exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of own workload and the assessment, treatment and discharge of young people, within the remit of the service. The role will centre around providing consultation and advice about psychological issues to staff within the residential childrens homes across the borough and to provide training with staff aid their professional development. The post holder will act as a point of contact for case consultation and reflective supervision sessions. There may be a requirement to provide specialist assessment of young people and to undertake bespoke interventions where this is necessary.

In order to undertake this role, you need to be a HCPC registered clincial psychologist and have knowledge of the impact of trauma on individuals and the use of psychological principals in order to support those who have experienced trauma. Experience of working with children would be advantageous but is not essential.

You will receive high quality clinical supervision from the psychological lead of the psychology service and work with alongside a passionate group of individuals who are committed to making a difference to children who are care experienced.
