Primary School SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about making a genuine difference in young people’s lives? We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist education setting this September, supporting children and young people who need a more personalised approach to learning.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Support students in an alternative provision environment, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, and barriers to mainstream education.
* Engage with students 1:1 and in small groups to build positive, trusting relationships.
* Support behaviour management in a calm and consistent manner.
* Assist with tailored learning activities designed to meet individual needs.
* Encourage emotional wellbeing and personal development among students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* A caring, nurturing, and patient approach to supporting young learners.
* Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
* Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential.
* A positive and resilient mindset, capable of adapting to various educational needs.
* Passion for supporting the development and education of young people.
* English and Mathematics GCSE C grade or equivalent.
