Principal Planner (Gr J)*
Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Planner (Gr J)* to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of urban planning initiatives and policies.
* Conduct comprehensive analyses of land use, zoning, and community development projects.
* Facilitate public engagement sessions and stakeholder meetings to gather input and feedback.
* Prepare and present detailed reports, proposals, and recommendations to government entities and community organizations.
* Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies to ensure alignment on planning projects.
* Evaluate development proposals to assess compliance with zoning codes, regulations, and planning principles.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of planning initiatives and recommend necessary adjustments.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
* Minimum of 7 years of relevant planning experience, with a focus on urban planning and development.
* Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local planning laws and regulations.
* Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
* Demonstrated experience in project management and leading multidisciplinary teams.
* Outstanding communication and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
* Proficiency in planning software and tools, including GIS applications, is highly desirable.
