Teaching Assistant - Newport
Vision for Education are looking for a driven and resilient Teaching assistant to join a supportive and friendly Primary School in Newport. Successful Teaching Assistants in this role previously have had a genuine passion to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people aged – 3- 11years. This role would start in June 2025

About The Role
This highly rewarding yet challenging position is based in a well-regarded primary schools in Newport where you will be supporting children with additional learning needs across the Foundation Phase to Key Stage 2. As a Teaching Assistants working in mainstream classrooms, you’ll provide tailored support to children with a variety of needs. This role allows you to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey by offering individualised assistance and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with additional learning needs in the classroom.
* Encourage independence while providing personal care support when required.
* Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
* Build strong relationships with students, parents, carers, and staff.
* Assist with lesson preparation and delivery, including supporting children’s learning activities.
* Support children with additional needs to ensure they have the best possible school experience in a mainstream setting.
Who We're Looking For From a Teaching Assistant
* A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred but not essential).
* Experience or willingness to learn effective teaching strategies for students with additional needs.
* A kind, patient, and caring nature, with a passion for supporting children’s education.
* The ability to stay calm and manage challenging situations.
* A strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
