GSL Education are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join schools in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity for educators with a background in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics to make a real difference in the classroom, whether you're looking for full-time, part-time, or flexible supply work.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for teaching Science across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5, planning and delivering creative and inclusive lessons, and fostering a curiosity for scientific exploration in your students. The role also includes assessing student progress, maintaining behaviour standards, and contributing to the wider school community.
As a Teacher of Science, your responsibilities will be:
Deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages in accordance with the national curriculum
Plan and adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs
Foster an inquisitive and inclusive learning environment
Use a range of strategies to monitor and assess student progress
Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a productive learning experience
Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to departmental planning and resources
Support students in preparation for internal and external assessments
Encourage student participation through engaging practical and theoretical tasks
Science Teacher Requirements:
Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE
Degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related subject)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4; KS5 desirable)
Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
