About Us Snappy Shopper is the market leader in the growing Q-commerce convenience grocery sector, worth £41b in the UK. In addition to our independent retailers, we serve most of the major convenience store players, including Spar, Nisa, Premier and Booker. Snappy exists to enable local high street businesses to serve their customers online so that local communities thrive, and revenue stays local. Retailers have seen revenue uplifts of between £5k and £120k per month, making the platform mission critical to local business. Our location We are a Scottish start-up with 120 colleagues based around the UK with offices in Dundee and Edinburgh. This role will be based in our Dundee office in the City Quay on a full-time basis. About the team Our technical team build and maintain our applications and systems. With a focus on the customer and the retailer, this team encompasses the breadth of our tech team: from back-end to front, specific app teams and even our servers. They face out to the rest of the business and our customers. About the Role Our QA Analysts ensure that all our web and mobile applications function as expected and meet both customer and colleague demands. We’re looking for someone with great communication skills to join the expanding QA function. You will need to be curious, adaptable and have good critical thinking. Any technical experience is also bonus, and the role will allow for growth in test automation. The duties of the QA Analyst include, but are not limited to: Carrying out tests across several mobile and web applications. Writing, reviewing and executing test plans for various project sizes. Refining and questioning development tasks from conception through to release. Writing and maintaining automated tests with guidance, including UI and API test automation in languages such as JavaScript and PHP. (Currently using Cypress, looking at a migration to Playwright) Completing feature and repression testing for projects across multiple systems. Executing performance, usability and accessibility testing, providing results and observations. Validating databases and test API’s where necessary. Replicating bugs reported by users and providing debugging information. Getting involved in the software development lifecycle early to implement Shift Left Testing. Documenting and triaging bugs in Jira. Liaising with 3rd party integrators and internal stakeholders to ensure new functionality works effectively. Collaborating with the existing QA to improve test processes. About You To excel in this role, you’ll need to be/have: Excellent communication skills for liaising with multiple teams and team members Curious, empathetic and adaptable in your approach to testing. Confident creating effective testing and technical documentation. The ability to try a task, perform your own due diligence and escalate when appropriate. Experience testing mobile apps, and web apps across various device types Knowledge of REST API’s and Open API specifications Ability to use tools like Postman, Browerstack and Android Device Bridge. Familiarity with database editing using SQL viewing tools Ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders Ideally, you’ll also Have experience in WebDriver automation Have experience in Appium or XCUI automation Understand EPOS integrations or similar subject areas in the retail sector Who you are is as important to us as what you can do.
