WMC RECRUITMENT is currently seeking for an Early years Educator who has great leadership and team management skills for a nursery in Welling. Working as the Senior Nursery Practitioner / Early Years Educator you will work alongside the management team to provide a high level of professional leadership and management to all playroom-based staff and to ensure that all children receive the highest possible standards of care and education.
As the Senior Nursery Practitioner / Early Years Educator you will support the nursery school to comply with all regulatory requirements, provide a high standard of care and education, support playroom staff in their roles and maintain positive working relationships with staff, parents and carers.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Senior Nursery Practitioner / Early Years Educator include:
Work closely with children, looking after their daily needs such as feeding, nappy changing and toileting
Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care
Work as part of a team to deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage for all children
Provide an enabling environment that meets the needs of each individual child
Provide individualised attention and support to each child's needs
Plan, provide and support age-appropriate play opportunities in line with the curriculum and individual needs of the children in your care
Monitor and assess children's learning outcomes, identifying areas for improvement or additional support
Be a key person to an allocated number of children and their families
Observe, assess and record childrens learning and development progress
Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers
Ensure standards of health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
In partnership with Deputy Managers, oversee and ensure the effective organisation within the room, while acting as a role model to other practitioners, promoting positive interactions and good deployment techniques
Liaise and work in partnership with external agencies (both statutory and voluntary) to support children within the setting as appropriate
Attend additional training events and meetings as identified by the Nursery Manager for training requirements
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Level 3 Early Years qualification with experience working in an early years setting
Safeguarding and Child Protection training
Understanding of the statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, SEND and Child Protection
Knowledge of The Childcare Act (2006)
EYFS welfare, learning and development requirements
Strong understanding of the EYFS
