Enforcement Officer - Level 2 (Trading Standards)

About the role:
We’re looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Trading Standards
Officers/Enforcement Officers to join our busy Business Team and focus on Food Standards interventions, including those needed in relation to new food business operators. These posts will be for a maximum of 3 years duration.
About you:
1. You’ll hold the Diploma in Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards including Food Standards (or one of its antecedents) as well as being able to demonstrate competency and experience in this area of Trading Standards legislation.
2. You will have a detailed knowledge of current food law and be able to clearly and accurately advise businesses about their legal obligations, as well as best practice, whilst clearly distinguishing between the two.
3. You will use a wide range of interventions to ensure that businesses are able to both achieve and maintain compliance.
What you will do:
1. Interventions at food businesses to assess and achieve compliance in
respect of food standards.
2. Where compliance cannot be achieved case you will be able investigate
further, gathering and presenting evidence in accordance with statutory
requirements, codes of practice and other associated procedures and
policies.
3. Welsh speaking and writing skills are desirable
