KONE has an excellent opportunity for a Trainee L ift Tester / Tester to join our New Equipment and Modernisation team on a full-time basis. This role covers the North East, with occasional travel to other areas as required. If you’re an NVQ3‑qualified Lift Engineer looking for a new challenge and keen to grow into a Tester role, we’d like to speak with you. Key accountabilities as a Lift Tester: Test lift units in accordance with the relevant test documents and KONE standard interpretation of EN81, Lift Directive and Essential Health & Safety Requirements Commission equipment following agreed specifications and commissioning instructions Conduct technical assessments, identify faults, and record abnormalities for corrective action Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently Carry out final inspection and sign the Final inspection document Liaise with relevant site personnel to ascertain state of lift Manage on-site communication with the customer for day-to-day testing and commissioning activities with a continuous coordination with Supervisor Participate in meetings and workgroups related to quality and technical matters Ensure lift well security (safe for other trades and public etc) and safety of all persons involved in the installation activities during commissioning and testing of the lift Report lift condition and progress to the Supervisor responsible for site activities Qualifications and previous experience: NVQ3 in Lift engineering or equivalent qualification Willingness to complete the NVQ4 in Lifts and become a Tester Good computer literacy Good written and spoken English Clear UK driving licence We provide a range of fantastic benefits to our employees including: Excellent salary depending on experience Annual bonus up to 20%, target level 10% Company car or van Private medical insurance 25 Days Holiday 8 Bank Holidays 1 Volunteering Day Company Pension Scheme Employee Assistance Programme Prolonged disability insurance (PDI) Life assurance Gym membership KONE Discounts and cashback platform Service Awards for every 10 years of seniority Give As You Earn, which allows to make tax-efficient charity donations Cycle to Work Scheme Your development matters: We provide clear career progression pathways to help you reach your full potential.
