Run the show. We're looking for an experienced and confident Head of Events to lead our events department on a fixed-term maternity cover. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on delivering impactful event experiences and can inspire a team while maintaining high standards. Type & Location This is a full-time, fixed-term contract to January 2027 based in Nottingham. The role requires flexibility for evening and weekend work as required, plus travel to events across the UK and internationally. Salary £45-50k dependent on experience. Role Responsibilities * Leading and inspiring the Events team, maintaining strong culture and standards within the department * Overseeing a portfolio of live events from concept through to execution, ensuring delivery meets and exceeds client expectations * Hands-on: Managing conferences, award shows, meetings, roadshows, sporting events and football tournaments * Mentoring junior staff and supporting their development throughout the contract period * Collaborating with company directors and internal teams to shape project briefs and proposals * Managing departmental budgets and financial planning in alignment with company targets * Planning workflow and resource allocation, recruiting freelance talent as needed * Negotiating contracts with venues, suppliers, and service providers * Building and managing relationships with suppliers including venues, AV, print, entertainment and more * Implementing comprehensive risk management frameworks and health & safety compliance * Building and maintaining ongoing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities * Developing post-event analysis and evaluation processes to improve future events * Presenting work internally and externally * Managing multiple projects to hit deadlines and targets within budget What’s in it for you Gimmicky work perks aren’t our thing.
