About the Role
The Personal Assistant (PA) plays a vital role in supporting the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) and Directors by ensuring smooth and efficient administrative operations across the Service.
You will be responsible for:
* Providing confidential administrative and organisational support to Directors and their teams
* Managing diaries, emails, and correspondence, including sensitive and confidential information
* Coordinating internal governance meetings and delivery group processes
* Organising seminars, meetings, and travel arrangements, ensuring all materials are prepared
* Undertaking research and managing ad hoc projects as required
* Liaising with external stakeholders, including government officials and partner agencies
* Supporting communication across the directorate, and ensuring timely follow-up on SLT instructions
* Providing cover for other PA roles and supporting the Executive Assistant to the CFO/DCFO/SLT

Experience and Qualifications Required
Qualifications:
* Minimum of two GCSEs (or equivalent), including Grade 4 (C) in Maths and English
Experience:
* Proven experience in office administration
Skills:
* Proficient in IT applications across a wide range of systems
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to take minutes and format them appropriately
* Basic numerical skills
* Excellent telephone manner
* Good research and analytical skills
Qualifications:
* NVQ in Business Administration (or equivalent experience)
Experience:
* Significant experience of being a Personal Assistant at Director Level
Knowledge:
* Knowledge of the Fire Service
