Role Overview
We are looking for an organised, motivated experienced Payroll Officer to help deliver a timely, accurate and professional payroll service across the Trust. You will support the processing of weekly and monthly payrolls, apply complex pay regulations and ensure staff are paid correctly in line with NHS terms and conditions and statutory requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed work, problem‑solving and delivering great customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Process payroll data accurately and efficiently within set deadlines.
* Apply statutory rules for tax, National Insurance, sickness, maternity, paternity and adoption payments.
* Validate documentation, check outputs and maintain accurate payroll records.
* Respond to staff and manager enquiries, offering clear and supportive advice.
* Process previous service enquiries, contract checks and absence updates.
* Support the distribution of payslips and payroll documentation.
* Assist in training new colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement.
* Ensure all work complies with Trust processes and statutory guidelines.

Individuals on a Student visa cannot be employed on a full-time permanent contract unless they have applied for a Graduate visa, have successfully completed their course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date, or the Trust agrees to sponsor them as a Skilled Worker if they complete studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date.
