We are at the dawn of an exciting new era with Smart Grids, as well as Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement (MHHS), which will be one of the biggest changes to the electricity industry to date. This means we are on the lookout for exceptional talent to join our team, as we expand our reach as well as our goals.
Technology is the essence of what we do, but our people make us who we are.
What will I be doing?
We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team. You will support the delivery of innovative technology solutions that improve operational efficiency for our customers, particularly in regulated industries such as utilities. You will be pivotal in driving the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of software development projects, ranging from strategic initiatives and new product implementations to enhancements of our existing solutions. Working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, you will ensure projects are delivered to exceptional standards, on time, within scope and budget, directly contributing to our expanding change portfolio and meeting the evolving needs of our customers.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced project leader with a background in software delivery, ideally with exposure to utilities or regulated sectors. Skilled in stakeholder engagement, agile and waterfall methodologies, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
What will my day look like?
* Strategic Project Leadership: Take full ownership and accountability for the end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent software development projects. Act as the primary point of contact, fostering strong and collaborative relationships with internal teams (including Business Analysis, Product Management, Development, Test, Infrastructure, QA, and Security) and external clients.
* Scope and Delivery Management: Effectively manage projects of varying scale and complexity, applying appropriate methodologies (both waterfall and agile) to ensure clear scope definition, realistic planning, and successful execution. This includes managing changes effectively and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
* Concurrent Project Execution: Expertly manage and prioritise the delivery of multiple projects simultaneously for diverse stakeholders, demonstrating exceptional organisational skills and the ability to navigate competing demands.
* Collaborative Planning and Execution: Lead cross-functional project teams, facilitating collaborative development of detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation. Proactively adapt plans to evolving requirements and ensure buy-in from all stakeholders.
* Cross-Project Coordination and Dependency Management: Collaborate closely with other Project Managers to identify and manage interdependencies across projects, ensuring seamless integration and efficient resource utilisation across broader initiatives.
* Leveraging Azure DevOps for Efficient Delivery: Utilise Azure DevOps as a core tool for managing project backlogs, tracking progress, facilitating communication, managing risks, and ensuring transparent and efficient project delivery.
* Proactive Communication and Transparent Reporting: Maintain clear, consistent, and proactive communication with all project stakeholders through regular updates, meetings, and comprehensive reporting. Tailor communication to different audiences and provide timely and accurate information on project status, risks, and issues.
* Performance Monitoring and Risk Mitigation: Proactively monitor project performance against agreed KPIs, identify potential risks and issues early, and develop, implement, and track effective mitigation strategies. Escalate appropriately and drive problem resolution.
* Governance and Reporting to Leadership: Report directly to the COO, providing regular and insightful updates on project progress, key risks, and issues, adhering to established Project Management governance frameworks and standards.
* Championing Best Practices: Continuously promote and implement best practice project management methodologies, tools, and techniques within the organisation, contributing to the ongoing improvement of our project delivery capabilities.
