Recruiting all skills within Operations, Project Management and Functional Safety, within the tech space
If you want to play a key role in bringing quantum computing from research to reality, this Operations Manager position offers exactly that. You’ll lead a growing team developing and producing the devices that form the core of advanced quantum systems — technology that’s changing what computers are capable of. It’s a hands‑on, highly technical leadership role within a fast‑moving environment where every project pushes the boundaries of what’s possible.
Our client develops next‑generation quantum hardware. Their goal is simple but ambitious — to build the world’s most reliable and scalable quantum processors. They combine scientific expertise with real‑world engineering to deliver systems already attracting global attention across research, industry, and high‑performance computing.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Operations Manager will lead the team responsible for producing and qualifying the company’s quantum processor devices. You’ll oversee internal manufacturing and test activities, manage supplier relationships, and guide the transition from prototype fabrication to early‑stage production.
Responsibilities include
 * Leading, mentoring, and expanding the device operations team, setting technical standards and building delivery capability.
 * Planning and coordinating manufacturing, packaging, and testing workflows for new and existing devices.
 * Managing supplier partnerships to ensure quality, yield, and timely delivery of device components.
 * Driving process improvements that balance rapid iteration with long‑term reliability and scalability.
 * Collaborating closely with design, operations, and programme teams to align development priorities with business goals.
What you’ll bring
 * Solid technical grounding in semiconductor, photonics, or microelectronics manufacturing and packaging.
 * Experience taking complex devices from lab prototype through to small‑scale production.
 * Proven leadership within technical teams, with a structured and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
 * Understanding of supply‑chain and vendor management in high‑tech environments.
 * Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and partners.
You’ll join a company operating at the frontier of quantum technology — small enough that your impact is visible, but established enough to offer real stability and progression. Expect collaboration with world‑class scientists and engineers, cutting‑edge facilities, and the chance to see your work directly contribute to the next major step in computing.
