Family Help Social Worker - Dorset
MYN is currently recruiting for experienced and passionate Family Help Social Workers to join high-performing Children’s Services teams in Weymouth in Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity to join an Outstanding Ofsted-rated local authority at the forefront of national reform, helping shape the future of family support through innovative, relationship-based practice.
The Opportunity:
You will join a progressive Family Help Team supporting children and families across the full continuum of need, from early help through to court proceedings.
Key responsibilities include:
* Completing high-quality assessments and care plans
* Managing Child in Need and Child Protection plans
* Supporting pre-proceedings and court work
* Delivering direct, meaningful work with children and families
* Building resilience through restorative and strengths-based practice
* Preparing clear, evidence-based reports
* Chairing multi-agency meetings
* Working collaboratively with education, health, police and community partners
* Maintaining accurate case records
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Social Worker (Degree in Social Work or equivalent)
* Registered with Social Work England (SWE)
* Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience within English Local Authorities
* Strong experience within statutory children’s services
* Confident managing complex safeguarding and court work
* Excellent assessment, analytical and partnership working skills
* A resilient, compassionate and child-centred approach
* Ability to travel across Dorset as required
