An ambitious, FCA-regulated broker-dealer in the City is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Settlements Operations Analyst to join the team. You will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of a range of financial instruments, including equities, fixed income securities, and derivatives.
What you’ll do:
* Ensure timely and accurate settlement of equity, fixed income, and derivatives trades across multiple global markets.
* Monitor and reconcile trade lifecycle events from trade capture to final settlement.
* Investigate and resolve settlement fails, breaks, and exceptions in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with front office, counterparties, custodians, and clearinghouses to resolve discrepancies and manage trade flow.
* Utilize the Calypso platform for trade capture, confirmation, settlement instruction, and reporting.
* Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of cash and positions.
* Provide support during the end-of-day and month-end closing processes.
* Contribute to operational process improvements and participate in system upgrades or workflow automation initiatives.
* Ensure adherence to internal controls, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CSDR, T+1/T+2 settlement cycles).
* Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and provide guidance or mentorship to junior team members.
* Provide client on-boarding support with SSI and account set up requests
* Resolving static data issues, perform UAT testing.
* Evaluate workflows and systems to ensure best practices, proactively review and write procedures as required.
* Oversight and escalation point for settlements/operations.
What you’ll bring:
* 5+ years of experience in settlements or post-trade operations within capital markets.
* Strong knowledge of equity, fixed income, and OTC/exchange-traded derivatives settlement processes.
* Proficiency with Calypso or other trade and risk management systems.
* Familiarity with key market infrastructures and clearinghouses (e.g., Euroclear, DTCC, Euroclear, CCPs).
* Working knowledge of Swift messaging, trade confirmations, and settlement instructions.
* Strong understanding of trade lifecycle events and corporate actions.
* Experience with reconciliation tools and exception management workflows.
* High level of accuracy, organization, and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
