Electrical Engineer | Shift Based
Howden Joinery is recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join our team based at Howdens Worksurfaces, our solid surface production facility in Holme‑on‑Spalding‑Moor, East Yorkshire. This role supports proactive/preventative maintenance of manufacturing equipment, services and utilities, as well as reactive breakdown maintenance and improvement projects.
Pay rate: £53,023.24 per annum (incl. basic rate, shift & disturbance allowance)
Shift pattern: 3‑week rolling shift pattern, days and nights – every Saturday off. For each three‑week block: 11 days in work, 10 days off.
* Week 1 – Mon & Tue 6am–6pm, Wed–Fri 6pm–6am (4 days off, Saturday to Tuesday)
* Week 2 – Wed–Fri 6am–6pm (1 day off, Saturday)
* Week 3 – Sun 10:30pm–6am, Mon & Tue 6pm–6am (4 days off, Wednesday to Saturday)

What You Will Be Doing As An Electrical Engineer
* Proactive and preventative maintenance
* Reactive breakdown maintenance
* Continual improvement projects
* Ownership and development of specific production line maintenance
* Supporting and engaging with lean manufacturing
Key Skills And Experience Required For The Electrical Engineer
* Experience maintaining multi‑axis CNC manufacturing machinery, including edge polishers and extraction plants
* PUWER experience desirable
* 2391 Testing & Inspection experience advantageous
* Lean Six Sigma certification advantageous
* Knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC, Pilz Safety PLC and related PLC systems
* Fault‑finding, root‑cause analysis and corrective action skills
* Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
* NVQ Level 3 essential
