Salary & Benefits
£33,048 – £38,169 per annum (DOE and qualifications); 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays; Teacher’s Pension; Retail and Leisure Discounts; professional and personal development opportunities; accessing college courses. Salary and leave entitlements are for that of a qualified lecturer.
Hours & Weeks
37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality teaching – plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons across Entry Level 3 to Level 5, ensuring programmes meet awarding body standards.
* Support student success – motivate and guide learners to achieve their potential, monitor progress and provide timely feedback and support.
* Create engaging learning environments – develop inclusive, innovative teaching methods and materials that meet diverse student needs.
* Drive curriculum and college development – contribute to course design, continuous improvement, employer links and promotional activities.
* Ensure quality, compliance and professionalism – maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, uphold safeguarding, EDI and health & safety standards, and commit to ongoing CPD.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Relevant degree in Health and Social Care (or Psychology/Sociology), GCSE English & Maths, and a teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards).
* Assessor/verifier awards and mandatory safeguarding, EDI and IT training.
* Recent hands‑on experience in Health and Social Care, with up‑to‑date subject knowledge and proven understanding of sector developments.
* Experience delivering Health and Social Care programmes, mentoring learners and using innovative, multimedia approaches to enhance learning.
* Strong communication & teamwork skills – ability to build effective relationships, influence at all levels and contribute positively within a collaborative college environment.
* Professionalism & organisational ability – highly organised, IT confident and committed to safeguarding, equality and continuous professional development, with a flexible and student‑focused approach.
