About the recipient
I am a happy 6-year-old boy who has a very cheeky smile. I am good at dancing and making people laugh.
What do I like?
I like to play with my pirate ship and farm animal figures. I love to dance. I’m good at imitating dance moves. I especially like Baby Shark, Danny Go and Superman. I enjoy positive adult attention and praise.
What do I dislike?
I don’t like people to be in my personal space. I can get overwhelmed in large crowds or if there is too much noise.
What do I enjoy doing?
I really enjoy dancing. I like water play and being outside but can get upset if my clothes are too wet and dirty. I like going to the park, especially down the slide.
What do I need help with?
I need help with keeping me safe. I am unaware of dangers. My pushchair is my safe place. If I am walking, I may get tired and sit on the floor. I may also run off. I need people to be patient with me. My speech is delayed; I use signs and visual aids to help me communicate. I need help with my personal care and require encouragement with my glasses, and I need support to implement gastro feeds.

5. Helping to fulfil their potential and aspirations.
6. Attending/transporting the individual to social activities and appointments.
7. Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
About the candidate
The suitable candidate must:
8. Be conscientious and committed to providing support as necessary for the child.
9. Be patient, caring and understanding.
10. Be able to build a positive relationship with the child to both encourage and support them.
11. Be flexible to meet the needs of the family.
12. Have knowledge of working with or supporting a child with special needs.
13. Have a driving licence.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
