Job Summary
Qualified Gas Engineer seeking upskilling into electric can become a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer. Utilita Energy offers a fully funded 8‑week training and up‑skilling programme leading to a Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – Power and EUSR accreditation. After training you start with a base salary of £35,094, increasing to £38,993 once you complete assessments.
Responsibilities
* Install domestic gas and electric meters in accordance with industry and company regulations.
* Test meters and related equipment after installation to ensure compliance with standards.
* Pick up and deliver used and new meters to designated warehouses.
Qualifications
* Current CCN1 and/or CMA1 (or equivalent) qualifications with at least 6 months validity remaining.
* Minimum 6 months experience as a gas engineer.
* Full UK driving licence and entitlement to a company vehicle.
Salary & Benefits
Base salary: £38,993 per annum (plus £2,000 London weighting). Additional £330 per week for on‑call duty (average 1 in 5 weeks), yielding a potential OTE of £42,293. Meter installation bonus pays £25 per meter or £50 for a dual meter once a minimum of 4 meters are installed in a day. Overtime for Sunday work is available. The role offers uncapped earnings and a flexible schedule with an average of 4 jobs per day.
