Job Title: Cover Supervisor Location: Sheffield Agency: Teaching Personnel Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible Supply / Long-term Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the Role: Teaching Personnel is currently seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with relevant experience and qualifications who are looking to gain further experience in education or secure flexible or long-term work. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students remain on task and maintain a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Supervise whole classes during teacher absences using pre-prepared lesson materials Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies Ensure students remain engaged and complete set work Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson progress and student behaviour Support students where necessary and promote a positive learning atmosphere Work across a variety of subjects and school settings Requirements: Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting (essential) Relevant qualifications (e.g. degree, HLTA, or equivalent – essential) Strong classroom and behaviour management skills Confidence delivering lessons to groups of students Excellent communication and organisational skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) What Teaching Personnel Offers: Competitive weekly pay Flexible working to suit your availability Opportunities for both day-to-day and long-term placements Access to a wide network of schools across Sheffield Ongoing CPD and training opportunities Dedicated consultant support All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
