About the role: Lunchtime is a really important part of the school day for our pupils, so we would like to appoint a Midday Supervisor who is keen to make a difference to a child’s experience at school. The ideal candidate will have a range of talents, experiences and skills so they are able to offer something unique to our school community. The role will include supporting children’s play activities on the playground, helping in the dining hall, toileting and manual handling duties as well as working as part of a friendly, dedicated team of Midday Supervisors to create a positive environment for our pupils. Previous experience of working with children in a school is preferable but training will also be given. The main duties are detailed within the attached Job Description, however some of the key requirements for this role are detailed below:- • have a good understanding of children with special educational needs and be able to provide care and support as appropriate • be trained to operate special needs equipment (eg hoists, certain feeding equipment) • have relevant training in dysphagia/epilepsy • literacy skills to be able to understand school policies and complete accident reports • be able to understand, comply and work within policies: e.g. school behaviour policy, child protection policy, health and safety • be prepared to undertake necessary training as above. Working Hours/Salary: Your working hours will be 10 hours per week, working 12.00 noon until 14.00 pm, Monday to Friday during term time only (38 weeks per year).
