This job is for a fixed term period of 6 months. This is a role for between 4 to 6 sessions per week. We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed GP to join our respected, patient centred and friendly team of 6 Partners, 7 Salaried GPs, 6 Practice Nurses with excellent support staff.

Main duties of the job
* Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions
* Performing routine health checks and screenings
* Prescribing medications and managing treatment plans
* Providing preventative care and health education to patients
* Referring patients to specialists and coordinating follow-up care
* Maintaining detailed and accurate patient medical records
* Participating in quality improvement activities and clinical audits
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care
* Managing medical emergencies within a primary care setting

Job responsibilities
* Face to face consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
* Making professional autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
* Assessing the health needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Providing counselling and health education.
* Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other providers as appropriate.
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Collecting data for audit purposes.
* Compiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
* Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
* In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Qualifications
Essential
* GMC full registration.
* Membership of a recognised defence union (MPS/MDU)
* Currently on the performers list and never been removed from a performers list for detrimental reason.
Desirable
* Use of EMIS PCS clinical system.
