IT Director
Location: Salford – Site based five days a week
A unique opportunity has arisen for a strategic and hands‑on IT Director to join a growing group of SMEs and play a pivotal role in shaping its technology roadmap. They are a family‑owned and run business with a supportive management style that has resulted in very low staff turnover and a great culture.
About the Role
As IT Director, you will lead the development and execution of the organisation’s IT strategy, ensuring that systems, infrastructure and processes are robust, secure and future‑ready. This role will involve building and managing a small team comprising infrastructure and development staff, while championing innovation and working closely with the board and group companies.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and delivery of the organisation’s IT and digital strategy.
* Recruit, manage and develop a small team, growing and developing their skills and accountability.
* Oversee infrastructure, development, communications, project management and systems support.
* Ensure systems are secure, scalable and compliant with regulations.
* Identify and implement innovative technology solutions and cost efficiencies.
* Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
* Deliver transformation initiatives aligned with company‑wide objectives.
* Maintain ISO27001 certification.
* Manage relationships with external service providers.
What We’re Looking For
* At least five years’ experience in an IT leadership role, ideally within an SME environment.
* Hands‑on skills in Microsoft OS, Azure/M365, SQL, VMware and networking knowledge.
* Experience leading developers with C#/SQL is a plus.
* Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement abilities with a track record in delivering change and transformation projects.
* Commutable to Salford (site based, five days a week).
