We're seeking a hands-on Product Development & Applications Technician to support the engineering team in the development, testing, and real-world application of new safety products. This role is ideal for someone with a strong automotive background and practical experience in vehicle electrical systems, fault finding, and installation. You'll play a key role in shaping product suitability for installers and end-users, helping reduce installation time and cost while improving integration and functionality. The role combines office-based work with site visits across the UK and occasional liaison with international suppliers. Key Responsibilities Conduct product and system testing, evaluation, verification, and validation Provide vehicle-related technical expertise to support product development Lead or support updates to product documentation and technical materials Guide product design with practical insights from vehicle installation experienceKey Tasks Benchmarking, teardown, troubleshooting, and reporting on safety technologies Lead installations and technical support during product trials on vehicles Electrical and mechanical modification, prototype construction, and rework Participate in engineering meetings and cross-functional project activities Deliver technical support and training to customers and internal teams What You'll Bring Hands-on experience with vehicle electrical systems (HGV experience preferred) Basic understanding of analogue/digital circuits and diagnostic tools Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and standard desktop applications Methodical, detail-oriented, and self-motivated approach Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Flexibility to travel and work beyond standard hours when required Resourceful and eager to learn, with respect for colleagues and company values ACS are recruiting for a Product Development & Applications Technician.
