Menopause Clinical Nurse Specialist
The closing date is 04 May 2026.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Menopause Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our gynaecology team to support and develop the menopause services across both Princess Royal and Royal Shrewsbury NHS Trusts.
You will be an experienced RGN and able to lead and assess the work of the nursing team, building upon your own clinical and managerial experience.
You will assist with the development and implementation of menopause clinics. Working as an autonomous practitioner, you will provide ongoing support and lifestyle advice to menopause patients on an out‑patient basis through one‑to‑one and group sessions where required. You will undertake patient assessments and a variety of nurse‑led clinics focusing on a holistic approach to menopause care.
Main duties of the job
* Assessment, management, relevant clinical procedures, planning and evaluation of menopause care.
* Engage in all training delivery methods made available, including clinics within a SaTH.
* Manage patients with menopausal symptoms.
* Potentially facilitate menopause and menstrual health group sessions.
* Work as an autonomous practitioner, unsupervised with the ability to manage.
* Complete self‑directed and formal courses of study.
* Shadow experienced clinical specialists.
* Participate in supervised practice.
* Undergo competency assessment.
* Provide holistic service to women.
* Provide education for patients in preventative healthcare.
* Ensure all statutory and mandatory training is complete and up to date.
Patient care will be provided through pre‑planned staff clinics within a SaTH. The role will include a balance between training and support, and direct service delivery, reducing the training component and increasing the time in independent service delivery.
About us
We believe that compassionate care sits at the heart of everything we do. Every member of our team – clinical or non‑clinical – plays a vital role in ensuring that patients, families, and colleagues are treated with dignity, empathy, and respect at all times.
We expect all staff to demonstrate compassion not only through their words, but through their actions: by listening attentively, communicating clearly and kindly, and recognising individual needs, feelings, and circumstances of those in our care.
Effective communication is central to safe and high‑quality healthcare. We value colleagues who take the time to understand others, explain information in a meaningful way, and respond to concerns with patience and understanding.
By joining our team, you are committing to uphold these values – ensuring that every patient feels heard, respected, and valued, and that compassion is embedded in every interaction, every day.
Our service will relocate to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028 as part of HTP. This move will bring specialist services together in a modern, purpose‑built facility to improve patient care and team experience.
We are actively recruiting, and successful candidates will be expected to move with the service in early 2028. The relocation will follow a formal management of change process, including full consultation and support for staff.
