We are seeking a highly motivated Health Care Assistant with enthusiasm to develop knowledge and experience of patients with Intensive Care service to join our team.
In this role you will assist the Health Care practitioner to carry out routine health‑related activities and complete personal care and activities of daily living, ensuring patient‑led focused care.
As a Healthcare Assistant you will provide clinical support to help the unit run efficiently and effectively. This will include delegated tasks such as recording physiological observations, recording blood glucose, and other responsibilities as delegated.
You will support the team in maintaining stock and equipment levels.
Changes to the UK immigration policy introduced on the 9th April 2025 increase the minimum salary threshold for Health and Care Worker visa applications to £25,000 (£12.82 per hour). For further information on the visa, please visit the Home Office website.
As per Agenda for Change, the starting salary for new NHS employees is £24,937 (minimum Band 3 salary point from 1st April 2025 in line with the National Living Wage).
Duties
* Support nursing staff and provide excellent patient care whilst maintaining the trust values.
* Establish and maintain communication with patients, relatives and carers, and the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic patient care.
* Develop own skills and knowledge and provide information to others to aid their development.
* Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others in the work area.
* Assist in maintaining and developing services.
* Ensure own actions help to maintain quality.
* Assist in assessing peoples’ health and wellbeing and related needs.
* Assist in planning, delivering and evaluating programmes to meet peoples’ health and wellbeing needs.
* Assist in the use of technology for measurement, monitoring and treatment.
* Assist the nurse in charge/ward manager to ensure the appropriate and effective delivery of facility services to properly maintain the patient environment.
* Work flexibly, including unsociable hours, to meet the demands of the service.
