At Transicon Ltd, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. Our engineers, designers and technicians work side by side to create innovative automation and control solutions that make manufacturing smarter, safer and more efficient.

We are looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to join our growing team in Telford. In this role, you will help design, develop and deliver high-performance mechanical and electromechanical systems, from custom machine builds to integrated robotics, working alongside our experienced controls, software and electrical engineers.

This is a practical, project-based position offering involvement from concept through to commissioning. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys developing creative technical solutions to real-world manufacturing challenges, while being part of a supportive and forward-thinking team.

Key responsibilities

* Lead the mechanical design and development of special purpose machinery, including structural frames, motion assemblies and safety integration.
* Design and integrate robotic and servo-driven systems (for example Delta stackers or Cartesian robots) using platforms such as Bosch Rexroth.
* Produce full CAD assemblies, manufacturing drawings, bills of materials and supporting technical documentation.
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams on PLC/HMI integration, motion control and commissioning.
* Support in-house and on-site build phases, including FAT, installation and testing.
* Identify, troubleshoot and resolve mechanical performance issues, driving continuous improvement throughout the system lifecycle.
* Keep up to date with developments in robotics, mechatronics and mechanical safety standards.

About you

We know that not everyone ticks every box, and that’s okay. If you meet most of the criteria and you’re excited about the role, we’d still love to hear from you.

* Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
* Strong 3D CAD skills (for example SolidWorks) and sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
* Experience in the design and integration of motion systems, actuators, sensors and safety systems.
* Practical experience delivering mechanical or automation projects from concept to completion.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
* Willingness to travel for site-based work and commissioning activities.

What we offer

At Transicon, you’ll join a friendly, inclusive and innovative engineering environment where everyone’s ideas are valued. We offer:

* Salary - £35k - £50K depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
* Healthcare scheme including GP helpline and mental health support line.
* Cycle to work and cyber scheme.
* Opportunities for professional growth and development.
* The chance to work on a wide variety of projects shaping the future of automation in UK manufacturing.
