EHC Coordinator, Nottinghamshire
Nottinghamshire ICDS, Statutory EHC Assessment Service is a countywide service responsible for carrying out Education Health Care Needs Assessments (EHCNA) and maintaining Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people in Nottinghamshire. We are currently recruiting for Pre 16 EHC Coordinator positions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Have a strong working knowledge of the Children & Families Act 2014, the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014, the SEN Code 2015, and the Care Act.
2. Manage a caseload of children and/or young people with EHCPs.
3. Coordinate the statutory EHCNA process, ensuring adherence to timescales.
4. Work in co-production with parents and CYP to incorporate their views into all documents.
5. Understand and reflect Preparing for Adulthood outcomes in work and EHCPs.
6. Write high-quality EHC plans that reflect CYP’s views and aspirations, with SMART outcomes.
7. Understand the Nottinghamshire graduated response to supporting children and young people with SEND, including 'SEN Support' services.
8. Communicate effectively with families about available support and services through the Local Offer.
9. Facilitate multi-agency meetings to agree on EHCP content and address placement risks.
10. Develop strong links with Education, Health, and Care colleagues.
11. Join a locality-based team, building local relationships.
12. Possess good literacy, IT skills, and familiarity with MOSAIC case management system (beneficial).
Candidate Profile:
Highly motivated, resilient team player with excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage statutory timescales. Experience working with disabled children, young people, families, and multi-agency professionals. Enthusiastic about improving services for disabled children and young people.
Remuneration:
£23.27 per hour
