About the Role:
As a SEN PE Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the PE department and SEN team, supporting pupils with a range of learning needs to access, enjoy, and thrive in physical education.
Responsibilities:
* Support the planning and delivery of PE lessons for students with additional needs
* Provide 1:1 and small group support during lessons, adapting activities where needed
* Encourage participation, build confidence, and promote physical and emotional well-being
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
* Assist with organising inclusive sporting events and extracurricular clubs
Requirements:
* Passionate about working with children and young people with SEN
* Enthusiastic about sport, health, and physical activity
* Patient, adaptable, and confident in managing behaviour positively
* A strong communicator and team player
* Experienced in working in a school or care setting (desirable, but not essential)
* Qualified in First Aid or willing to train (desirable)
