Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety practices, excellent culinary skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team within a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties
* Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and execution of dishes.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative dishes that enhance the dining experience.
* Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety practices.
* Help manage kitchen operations during peak service times to ensure timely delivery of meals.
* Contribute to maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
* Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen management.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
