At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission‑critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting‑edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
YOUR IMPACT
You will join a team of over 600 engineering and technical professionals responsible for delivering an extensive portfolio of high‑value, high‑profile projects that will shape the future infrastructure of our water industry for generations to come.
As an integral part of a multi‑disciplinary, multi‑company delivery model, you will lead and manage the full lifecycle of complex, innovative detail designs, project tasks and milestones for capex investment programmes across the water industry, including pumping stations, treatment plants, process engineering systems, control systems, distribution networks, transformers, switchgear, motor control centres and emergency power systems.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve high‑quality outcomes, your remit will include:
* The detailed design, specification and delivery of safe, cost‑effective and innovative electrical solutions that meet and exceed client requirements and industry standards.
* Embed constructability, commissioning, maintenance and reliability requirements into the design.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver solutions to contract‑specific KPIs, on time and within budget.
* Liaise with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary teams; develop and produce detailed electrical designs, drawings and specifications.
* Contribute to design management, scheduling, risk management, change control and financial forecasting.
* Investigate and analyse existing assets—performance, reliability and maintainability—to develop and implement improvements.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED
We would be delighted to hear from candidates with:
* Chartered Member of IEEE.
* Demonstrable progressive experience and expertise in detailed design and design‑and‑build execution for water, wastewater and bioresources non‑infrastructure projects.
* Strong grasp of electrical engineering principles and project lifecycle management.
* In‑depth knowledge and experience of power distribution systems (low, medium and high voltage, up to 15 kV).
* Extensive experience of P&ID interpretation, loop wiring diagrams and control schematics.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM or similar design tools.
