Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to help deliver our regulatory responsibilities, placed on us as the Enforcement Authority for the Reservoirs Act 1975 in England. The Reservoirs Act helps to ensure the safe operation and management of dams. This role is part-time (22.2 hours per week) with job share arrangements and may require some travel and overnight stays.
You will join the Environmental Assessment and Reservoir Regulation department, within the Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate. The Reservoir Regulation team is national, dispersed across the country and comprises 25+ experienced professionals responsible for regulating more than 2140 large raised reservoirs in England.
Responsibilities
* Monitor compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975 for the 2140 reservoirs in England.
* Manage day-to-day correspondence and record incoming documentation on our database to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
* Encourage compliance when reports or certificates are not received as expected.
* Be the first point of contact for reservoir owners and panel engineers.
* Provide information and advice on the requirements of the Act.
* Travel as required given the dispersed nature of the team.

* Interviews will be conducted remotely on Microsoft Teams (week commencing 06 October 2025).
* This is a national role; you can be based at any Environment Agency office.
