API Capacitors are the UK leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality capacitors for power electronic applications. Our extensive range of products provide capacitors for the traction, avionics, and industrial drive markets. We have a customer base which includes major European and North American blue-chip companies. Our USP is the provision of custom innovative design and manufacture to order packages to suit any customer requirement. API Capacitors have supplied units for CERN on the large hadron collider, capacitors for the Royal Navy's propulsion system, and units for F1 for Mercedes HPC.

There is a requirement for a graduate in electrical engineering with a strong electronics and high voltage background. Ideally, the candidate would have some research experience as well, although it is not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
* Design of film capacitors to the respective requirements
* Assist with tendering and manufacturing documentation for film capacitors
* Liaise with the draughting team and with the production management
* Work closely with senior engineers on R&D projects for product improvement
* Undertake design and development of any required test rigs
* Undertake and document capacitor R&D tests
* Improvement of capacitor design models
* Electromagnetic modelling and analysis
Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent subject
* Knowledge of power electronics
* Experience in R&D projects (industrial setting)
* Ability to undertake different tasks in parallel
* Attention to detail, methodical and goal oriented
* Fluent technical English - written and spoken
* Full UK/EU driving licence
