This full-time, ongoing locum role offers a competitive hourly rate and the chance to work within a fast-paced, high-throughput laboratory environment, supporting essential diagnostic services. You will play a key role in maintaining laboratory efficiency and accuracy, contributing directly to patient care through high-quality sample handling and analyser support. Technical exposure: Gain hands-on experience with automated analysers and referral testing processes. What you will do Load and unload Cobas 8000 analysers in line with laboratory protocols. Operate P671 and P612 systems accurately and efficiently. File and store samples correctly to ensure traceability and compliance. Aliquot samples for referral testing, maintaining sample integrity at all times. Manage in-house and referral pending lists, ensuring timely progression of work. Monitor and support reagent management to maintain uninterrupted laboratory workflow. Respond to customer service queries via email professionally and promptly. Handle incoming telephone calls, providing accurate information and support. Essential requirements HCPC registration (required). Previous experience working as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in a clinical laboratory setting. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment. Driving is not required for this role.
