Job Overview Our client are seeking an experienced and detail-orientedBuyerto join there team. In this role, you will play a key part in oursupply chain and procurement operations, ensuring the timely availability of materials, equipment,plant, and tool hireneeded to meet project and production demands. You will be responsible forsupplier negotiations,inventory management, and maintainingstrong vendor relationshipsto support operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with company standards. Key Responsibilities Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based onquality, cost, reliability, and delivery performance. Negotiate contracts and purchase agreementsto secure favourable pricing, terms, and conditions. Manage theprocurement and coordination of plant and tool hire, ensuring the right equipment is available when needed and returned efficiently after use. Monitorinventory and hire levels, placing orders and scheduling returns to maintain optimal stock and resource availability. Collaborate withinternal teams(production, logistics, and site management) to forecast demand and align procurement and hire plans. Track and assesssupplier and hire company performance, addressing any quality, delivery, or service issues. Stay informed onmarket trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging supplier or hire opportunities. Maintainaccurate procurement and hire records, including purchase orders, hire agreements, supplier details, and pricing data. Qualifications & Experience Proven experience as aBuyer,Procurement Specialist, or in a similar purchasing role. Experience managingprocurementarrangements within a construction, engineering, or industrial environment. Strong understanding ofsupply chain and procurement principles. Demonstrated ability tonegotiate effectivelyand achieve favourable outcomes with suppliers and hire companies. Familiarity withlogistics and site operations. Excellentanalytical, organizational, and problem-solvingskills. Strongattention to detailand ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
