Road Safety Marking Instructor and Assessor

Location: Gainsborough, Lincolnshire

Salary: £28,000 - 30,000 per annum (negotiable for the right candidate)

Originally established in 1976, the organisation is a specialist trade body that has played a pivotal role in the development of the road marking industry. Based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, they have a membership that spans the UK and Europe.

They have earned strong reputation for training, standards, and safe systems of work. It is their aim to promote their industry as a key component of a safe and effective highways network.

The Role

They are looking for an outgoing, patient, and flexible individual who is willing to learn under their mentorship and achieve the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience, and where required qualifications, to deliver road safety marking related training and assessment to a high standard as expected by the organisation and its UK wide membership.

You will be based at their Gainsborough office, but some hybrid working arrangements will be available once you have passed your probation. The role will also involve travelling throughout the UK at various times of the year to deliver training, assessments, and representing the organisation.

You will deliver front-line road marking related training and assessment including:

* Road Safety Marking Specialist Applied-skills Programme (SAP).
* Manage and deliver the organisation Operative Refresher Assessment Scheme (ORAS).
* Road safety marking related NVQ's.
* Road safety marking related general training courses.
* Help innovate and promote training and assessment delivery.
* Be able to travel around the UK in support of members training and assessment needs.

They will provide training and mentorship to enable you to pass on your knowledge and skills, existing and new, helping to ensure a qualified and sustainable workforce for the road marking industry. You will be able to work in-line with awarding body requirements and schedules for completion, including on-site training and assessments.

Key Responsibilities

* Train and assess SAP Trainees at their Gainsborough training centre.
* Deliver training and assessments to support a fully competent and skilled sector workforce.
* Assess NVQ Candidates in accordance with prevailing qualification standards.
* Conduct training, reviews, and assessment visits with all Trainees.
* Ensure the required documents and tools are used to record Trainee progress.
* Ensure Trainee files and learning plans are of a high standard and updated regularly.
* Manage Trainee portfolios, ensuring fitting and timely uploads to allow internal verification.
* Liaise with their Training Co-ordinator to manage activities, site visits and travel schedules.
* Deliver other training courses as required, at the organisation or clients' site.
* Develop own portfolio of accreditations, with organisation support, to ensure quality of delivery.
* Maintain and develop own professional capability to support organisational growth.
* Support the overall aim of the organisation, taking on role relevant activities when required.
* Work with organisation colleagues to support organisation member organisations.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

* UK driving licence category B, or greaterhigher.
* Be able to drive yourself to member sites, delivering training and assessments.
* Wiling to continuously develop as a professional working for a Trade Association.
* Comfortable presenter with an ability to engage learner of varying requirements.
* Excellent ICT skills and experience, including MS-365.

Desirable

* Qualified as an Instructor (AET or equivalent) and Assessor.
* An understanding of qualification frameworks.
* Hold construction related training accreditations.
* Practical experience in setting out and applying road markings.
* Knowledge of the key standards that drive the road marking sector.
