  • Location: Hybrid / London, NW1 8EH (minimum 3 days per week in office)
  • Salary: £40,000 - £44,000

Through our ambitious youth programme, 11- 30-year-olds can take part in creative opportunities or use affordable studio space that can ignite a passion, develop skills or help them turn their creativity into a career.


About the role

As the Young People’s Digital Platform Manager, you will support, stimulate and facilitate user engagement with the Roundhouse Young People’s Digital Platform (the Platform), lead on the development of creative learning content/programmes and ensure that the Platform remains a safe space, free of judgement for young people to gather, collaborate and learn.


You will be the voice of the Roundhouse for the Platform community, formulating and implementing a platform communication strategy and processes designed to stimulate engagement and ensure that the platform is a safe space for creative expression, collaboration and learning.


In association with the Digital Platform Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for the management and implementation of robust safeguarding and moderation policies and procedures.

You will deliver information and insights from the community and their engagement with the Platform to the organisation to support safeguarding, compliance, evaluation and continual improvement.


Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Engage, support and enable the community through initiatives designed to stimulate engagement, responding to calls to action and contributing to conversation and debate.
  • In line with the Roundhouse creative programme and in consultation with Roundhouse Creative Programme Managers and the Roundhouse Film & Broadcast Producer, oversee the design, production and delivery of digital creative learning content for the platform.
  • With the Young People’s Digital Platform Coordinator, compose and regularly post community-facing communications.
  • Ensure all programmed activities and provisions are delivered safely and in line with organisational policies, and in accordance with contractual agreements and service level agreements, including safeguarding, health and safety, data protection and public guidance and legislation on digital engagement including the UK Online Safety Act.
  • Actively oversee and moderate user-generated content posts, making decisions regarding appropriateness in line with agreed policy.
  • Manage and, with the Young People’s Digital Platform Coordinator, implement processes for user reporting of non-compliant activity and timely, effective responses and remedial action.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of regular compliance reporting in accordance with the regulations of the Online Safety Act, managing the collation of all relevant data and compilation of reports.
  • Acquire, analyse and prioritise information and data analytics to create reports for internal and external stakeholders from the Young People’s Digital Platform.
  • Manage the day-to-day budget relating to the Young People’s Digital Platform, including forecasting, making use of financial reports as required and, in association with the Associate Director of Young People and the Head of Broadcast & Digital, ensure Key Performance Indicator targets are met.
  • In collaboration with the Youth Marketing team, deliver the marketing and communication strategy effectively by adapting the tone and voice to suit the particular audience of the different online media channels and stay within Roundhouse’s policies and guidelines.


People Management:

  • Line manage the Young People’s Digital Platform Coordinator, undertaking regular 1-2-1s, appraisals and supporting continuous professional development in line with HR processes.


General:

  • Be committed to putting young people at the heart of everything we do.
  • Promote and comply with current legislation and the Roundhouse’s policies on equality, diversity, child and data protection, health & safety and financial compliance, both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others.
  • Promote, develop and comply with our policies and practices regarding sustainability and lessen the environmental impact of the Roundhouse.
  • Be responsible for identifying and undertaking training and personal development to meet business needs.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the level of the post so as to ensure the smooth running of the Roundhouse.


Who we are looking for:

  • Experience managing communities on private or public networks/platforms.
  • Proficient in digital content production workflows, IT, CMSs, and content moderation systems.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience of working with young people and implementing safeguarding.
  • Knowledge of the current arts and cultural education landscape.
  • Experience of community platforms and content moderation, ideally with some knowledge of the UK Online Safety Act (OSA).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage, inspire and motivate participation amongst young people.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to monitor and facilitate communication across multiple channels.
  • Proven skills in budget setting and financial reporting.
  • To remain up-to-date regarding the latest industry developments and UK legislation, e.g the OSA, Ofcom and GDPR.
  • Understanding of professional social networking platforms and social media management and reporting tools.
  • Understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and inclusive practice.
