Salary: £45-000 to £75,000 + Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + Pension
Blaymires Recruitment is representing a well-established and growing main contractor based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, who is looking to appoint an Estimator to join their expanding team.
With over 10 years of successful trading, the company delivers a diverse range of refurbishment, fit-out, and new build projects across the retail, commercial, MoD, and local authority sectors, with project values typically ranging from £100K to £4M.
Due to continued growth, the business is seeking a commercially minded Estimator or Estimator / Surveyor to work closely with and support the Managing Director. The successful candidate will play a key role across the full project lifecycle, from pre-tender through to handover and final account.
This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded commercial professional looking for a varied and responsible role within a supportive and growing business.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce accurate and competitive tender estimates and cost plans
* Prepare take-offs, pricing documents, and subcontractor enquiries
* Manage project costs from pre-construction through to final account
* Monitor budgets, cost reporting, and cashflow forecasting
* Subcontractor procurement and commercial management
* Oversee projects from inception through to completion and final account
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or commercial management
* Strong understanding of construction methods and cost control principles
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational xsngvjr skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* Proficient in MS Excel and estimating/commercial software
