♻️ Strategic Account Director – Recycled Polymers
Salary: £135k OTE

Role Purpose
In early 2025, Clearpoint Recycling secured the exclusive sales contract for Envrioo’s new state-of-the-art food-grade PET recycling plant. To lead the commercial launch and secure key strategic offtake partners, we are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Account Director.
This senior role focuses on developing long-term, high-value relationships with major beverage brands, bottle manufacturers, and packaging converters. The Strategic Account Director will shape and execute the commercial strategy, build a robust sales pipeline ahead of plant commissioning, and deliver sustainable revenue growth across the UK and international markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Customer Leadership
* Lead the acquisition and management of high-value strategic accounts, focusing on beverage producers, FMCG brands, and bottle manufacturers.
* Secure long-term offtake agreements for food-grade rPET pellets, aligned with plant capacity and growth plans.
* Develop bespoke commercial strategies for top-tier customers, ensuring Clearpoint becomes a trusted, long-term supply partner.
* Deliver an exceptional customer experience from first contact through onboarding, technical trials, and ongoing account optimisation.
Commercial Strategy & Execution
* Achieve revenue, volume, and contribution margin targets.
* Shape and execute the commercial roadmap, providing strategic insight on market evolution, pricing structures, and customer needs.
* Build a comprehensive pre-launch pipeline to ensure strong order coverage when the contract commences in late 2026.
* Drive a coordinated go-to-market approach, working closely with Marketing, Operations, Technical, and Leadership teams.
Technical & Collaborative Engagement
* Work with technical teams to deliver custom, technically optimised and cost-efficient solutions suited to customer bottle specifications and processing requirements.
* Understand and communicate the technical properties of food‑grade rPET, including:
* material characteristics
* decontamination standards
* EFSA/FDA compliance
* support activity required to obtain and maintain RecyClass and EuCertPlast certification, ensuring full compliance with relevant audit, quality, and traceability standards.
* performance in injection moulding and extrusion systems
* Support customers through trials and qualification processes, driving successful adoption.
Market Insight & Thought Leadership
* Analyse market trends, competitor movements, and regulatory developments across the rPET and packaging sectors.
* Provide accurate sales forecasting and pipeline visibility, accounting for production capacity and supply constraints.
* Actively promote the product’s technical capabilities and sustainability credentials across the industry, including at conferences, customer events, and trade shows.
Cross-Functional Leadership
* Collaborate with operations and supply chain functions to align production schedules with customer demand.
* Ensure seamless communication between internal teams and customer stakeholders, proactively escalating issues and resolving challenges.
* Lead internal initiatives around pricing, margin management, and strategic customer planning.
Experience & Skills Required
Industry Experience
* Proven success in a senior commercial, strategic account, or business development role within the plastics, polymers, packaging, recycling, or beverage sectors.
* Strong understanding of polymer processing and recycled material supply chains, ideally including food‑grade rPET.
* Experience working with major FMCG brands, bottle manufacturers, or packaging converters.

* Strong analytical skills with experience in:
