Responsibilities:As an Assembly Operative, you will:
* Assist in mechanical overhauls of traction Gearboxes, including disassembly and assembly
* Conduct mechanical inspections of Rail Gearbox parts
* Perform failure and root cause analysis for defects
* Execute necessary repairs and quality checks to industry standards
* Disassemble and reassemble products per work order instructions
* Drive productivity improvements while adhering to efficiency and utilisation standards
* Champion health, safety, and environmental practises within your zone
* Engage in continuous improvement activities, contributing to workshops and discussions
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
* Strong mechanical fitting skills with hands-on experience
* Familiarity with Gearbox systems and mechanical overhauls
* Proficient in mechanical inspection techniques
* Experience in failure and root cause analysis
* Commitment to quality checks and safety regulations
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting
