The Company
A long-established UK-based manufacturing business operating within a specialist production environment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join its experienced maintenance team. The company is known for its quality-focused operations and continuous investment in modernising its engineering processes.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of a wide range of mechanical equipment, including high-speed rotating machinery. Familiarity with industrial steam and boiler systems is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This is a Mechanically biased role; however, any amount of electrical knowledge would be advantageous.
Key Duties:
Perform both proactive and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems and plant
Working on all aspects of plant such as bearings, pumps, hydraulics, chains, some welding, fabrication, pipe work and compressed air maintenance.
Support engineering projects, including equipment upgrades and installations
Maintain and repair high-speed mechanical equipment
Participate in weekend cover and on-call rota duties
Adhere to all site safety procedures and engineering standards
The Successful Candidate:
Time-served Mechanical Engineer with strong industrial experience
Expertise in maintaining large, high-speed rotating equipment
Familiarity with industrial steam systems preferred
Pay & Benefits:
Basic salary £38000
On-call retainer: £20 per night during on-call weeks
Overtime: 1.5x hourly rate (Mon–Sat), 2x on Sundays
