General Manager About the role We currently have an opportunity for a General Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for driving commercial performance, strengthening customer, colleague, and stakeholder relationships, and leading continuous improvement across the depot. You will play a key role in delivering the company’s strategic plan while ensuring the depot achieves and exceeds all KPIs, targets, and objectives. Responsibilities: Ensure the depot has the right team, skills, and structure to maintain standards, controls, and safety. Drive a performance management culture by motivating and inspiring teams to deliver exceptional results. Champion company values and embed them effectively across the depot. Identify and maximise commercial opportunities to improve cash profit and grow the business. Achieve all company targets, objectives, and KPIs to ensure the depot’s profitability. Lead the delivery of excellent customer satisfaction and ensure a consistently positive shopping experience. Act as an ambassador for change by supporting and embedding new business initiatives. Minimise loss through effective credit control, asset protection, stock management, and governance. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, customers, and Head Office teams. Ensure full compliance with all company policies, processes, and legal requirements. Analyse depot performance data to identify trends and create solutions to improve profit and efficiency. Develop and execute plans for the ongoing growth and development of the depot. Lead high-performing teams through coaching, training, and clear objective setting. Maintain a positive team culture built on communication, autonomy, and professional leadership. The Ideal Candidate Experience in a retail or wholesale environment. Excellent product knowledge and commercial awareness. Strong understanding of business strategy and proven ability to deliver on it. Significant experience delivering excellent customer service and satisfaction. First-class leadership and team-building skills. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Highly organised with exceptional planning and prioritisation abilities. Empathetic and empowering leadership style with clear delegation. Excellent communication and listening skills. A self-starter with strong ownership and accountability for depot performance.
