Job summary


Are you motivated and keen to develop skills working with children and families in the community? If so, this is an exciting time to be considering a career as a Community Staff Nurse in School Nursing within Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Children and Families Team.

The School Nursing Service supports school aged children attending education provision or being home schooled in Hampshire. You will contribute to assessment, planning and delivery of commissioned Public Health Services, based at Moorgreen Hospital.

If you are a registered NMC Nurse and looking to join a thriving, innovative and developing service which puts children, young people, and their families at its core, then this is the job for you. There will also be Development opportunities to undertake the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse course.

This role requires highly motivated and compassionate Community Staff Nurses who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, work as part of a skill mix team to enable the excellent delivery of commissioned aspects of the Healthy Child Programme. You will be required to work alongside partner agencies to achieve best health outcomes for school aged children and their families.

Main duties, tasks & skills required


The primary role of the Community Staff Nurse (CSN) is to support in delivering the commissioned elements of the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) (DH 2009) as a member of the 0-19 public health nursing service (Health Visiting / School Nursing).

They will provide responsive, holistic, quality, family centred public health outcomes in line with the 4-5-6 model of the Healthy Child Programme including the high impact areas.
